Sand Bar / Far Rockaway / Post Sandy

Hurricane Sandy.  NY.
I arrived on the coast about a week after the storm.
It was beyond difficult getting there.
There was only one ferry running.
Twice a day.
When I touched down on the wharf at Far Rockaway.
I was faced with such devastating destruction.
Everything swept through w/ sand & debris.
Lifted effortlessly off its foundation.
In this case.
The boardwalk itself had been moved back about 20 feet.
And sat.
Defiantly askew.
& the metal security shutters.
Had no response for the pounding waves.
